For this installment, we spoke with Filemon Sch<\/strong><\/em>\u00f6<\/strong>ffer<\/strong>, co-founder and CCO of <\/em>Hubs<\/em><\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hubs provides engineers with custom parts for manufacturing, using innovative methods like 3D printing. Originally from the Netherlands, Filemon previously worked as a strategy consultant and a researcher. Here\u2019s what he had to say to us.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. As a marketing leader, your team is often responsible for the first experience your customer has with your brand. What\u2019s the impression you most want to provide?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As we\u2019re in manufacturing, a large part of our business is about \u201ctrust,\u201d similar to the banking sector. Users should be able to trust us to deliver their parts on time and according to specifications. In order for users to take a chance on Hubs, our strategy is to make our online quoting portal as seamless as possible, almost to the point where it\u2019s hard to believe it works.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, two keywords for first experience: trustworthiness and seamless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. What\u2019s your most valuable skill as a marketer? What\u2019s your most useless skill?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My most valuable skill is that I think I can get a strong performance out of a team while raising morale and team spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And my most useless: I\u2019m a physicist. Not much use there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. What\u2019s a tool you rely on now that you didn\u2019t 3 years ago?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We rely heavily on Hubspot, our CRM.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. What\u2019s a tool that doesn\u2019t exist yet, but that you really want three years from now?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SEA for dummies (still quite specialized, seems unnecessary at the moment, but I’m keeping an eye on it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
